Knowledge about city image, landscape identity and place attachment of the lay-public could be useful for minimizing potential land use conflict, increasing satisfaction with spatial planning mechanisms and involving the public in decision-making process. Mental maps proposed a good starting point for discussion about planning solutions and created a platform for mutual understanding between professionals and the lay-public. Sketch maps could be a communication platform between experts and the lay-public for discussion of urban development project, involving the public in decision-making process. |
