Abstract:
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is an important document aimed at human rights protection. However, the very idea of human rights was first raised during the Renaissance, the Reformation and the Enlightenment. The ideas were embodied in the works of thinker of those times and in the rules of law, including those that existed in the Belorussian lands. Such Human Rights as proprietary integrity, the right of women to choose a marriage partner, the ability to defend their rights in court were fixed in the privileges 1387 and 1413. This idea was introduced in Casimir’s Privilege in 1447, the Statute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1588 and Constitution of the Polish- Lithuania in 1791. Today, right and freedoms of every person are guaranteed by the Constitution.
